Planning permission granted to proposed biomass station at the Port of Immingham

Planning permission has been awarded to developer Real Ventures, for the proposed construction of a biomass power station at the Port of Immingham on the River Humber. The project has a value of approximately £130 million (Є159.15 million).

Hundreds of jobs will reportedly be created during the 30-month construction period and during the predicted 25-year life of the 49MW combined heat and power facility.

Construction planning of the wood-pellet-fuelled Reality Energy Centre will begin immediately, with the plant expected to be operational by 2015.
