Ormánsági Zöldenergia plans biogas plant in Hungary

Hungarian energy firm Ormánsági Zöldenergia is reported to be investing HUF950 million (€3 million) into a new biogas plant in Vajszló in the southwest of the country.

Using waste products sourced from nearby farms, the plant will have a capacity to generate 4.5GWh of electricity when it comes online in Q2 2015.

In addition to Ormánsági Zöldenergia's investment, the project will also receive an EU grant of HUF625 million.

Electricity produced at the plant will be sold to power firm Mavir. Excess heat will be used to heat local greenhouses.
