New carbon capture technology for greenhouse industry launched

ProSelect Gas Treating has launched the world's first carbon capture system for the greenhouse industry. The GC6 Carbon Capture System was unveiled at the SunSelect Produce greenhouses in Delta, British Columbia.

The $5 million new technology was developed in Canada and is able to secure carbon dioxide emissions from biomass combustion and convert it into fertilizer. This can then be used to grow greenhouse crops.

The revolutionary technology is highly sustainable, and has the potential to reduce fuel and energy costs. The system captures CO2 at the rate of 5 tons per hour. The extracted CO2 is then converted, using a patented organic solvent, to pure, food grade level, which can then be delivered directly to greenhouse crops as natural fertilizer.
