Nature Energy has celebrated a key milestone in Denmark’s green energy transition with a traditional Danish Rejsegilde (topping-out ceremony) at the company's upcoming biogas facility in Abed, Lolland in Denmark.
The event gathered over 100 local residents, municipal officials, stakeholders, and representatives from Nordic Sugar Danmark, which will supply the facility with 100,000 tonnes of beet pulp annually - and use the resulting biomethane in its production processes.
The Abed facility is a cornerstone in Nature Energy’s mission to develop locally integrated, low-carbon energy solutions.
Once operational, it will convert agricultural by-products into approximately 20 million cubic metres of biomethane per year, which will be injected directly into the Danish gas grid.
In a circular energy model, Nordic Sugar will then reuse this green gas in its own operations.
"Delivering the low-carbon solutions our society needs requires coordination, strong local partnerships, and shared vision," said Jannik Olejas, CEO of Nature Energy.
The ceremony featured a symbolic moment in which Mayor Holger Schou Rasmussen, along with Thomas de Boer, Jesper Bundgaard, and Olejas, assembled a LEGO wreath.
