NACF and CECE to build biomass plant

In the US, Port Gibson, Mississippi, will be home to a new biomass-fired power plant after National Clean Fuels (NACF) signed a profit participation agreement with the Center for Environment, Commerce and Energy (CECE) to construct a biomass-to-electricity facility.

The plant will convert sawdust and woodchips into power.

CECE and NACF will work together in the planning and implementation stages of the development, while NACF will provide CECE with monthly project support financing in return for a percentage of the power plant’s net profits. This deal is expected to continue for a number of years following the launch of the power plant.

NACF and CECE are currently working towards finalising an interconnection agreement with local energy suppliers.
