Multi-million waste-to-energy plant bound for Ethiopia

A first ever waste-to-energy facility in Ethiopia, Africa moved a step closer to realisation this month.

The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPC) has signed a contract with clean power supplier Cambridge Industries (CI) to construct a 50MW plant in Addis Ababa to the tune of $120 million (€91 million).

CI has also been conducting feasibility studies throughout the country for future project plans, including in places like Behar Dar and Jimma.
