Iberdrola expands to the US

In Oregon, US, the building work has begun on Spain-based renewable energy firm Iberdrola Renovables’ biomass power plant in Lake County.

The plant is the company’s first biomass project in the US.

Operations are due to commence by the end of 2012 when it will produce 26.8MW of renewable power.

200 construction jobs will be created, in addition to 20 for operations and maintenance at the plant, and a further 50 related to managing and transporting and storing the biomass.
