Hetas receives ENplus accreditation

In the UK, Hetas has become the nation's only officially recognised body for the quality assurance system ENplus, after being approved by the European Pellet Council.

'ENplus means that producers and traders can prove their product quality is managed throughout the entire supply chain, including production, storage and transport,' says Hetas' Mark Russell. 'For their customers it means reliable heating – vital for commercial users such as schools, businesses and local authorities.'

Hetas runs a number of certification schemes for the solid fuel and biomass industries. It runs the Solid Biomass Assurance Scheme (SBAS) which was launched in 2010 with the support of government funding from the Department of the Environment and Climate Change (DECC). SBAS offers suppliers and customers an independent quality assurance system for logs, chips, briquettes and pellets.
