Global NRG Advisory Limited (Global) and Matter Global Solutions Inc (Matter) have announced they have signed a seven-year financing agreement that will see Global advise on the funding of Matter’s pipeline until 2030, starting with its Renewable Natural Gas (“RNG”) facility in Clayhurst, British Columbia, Canada.
The first project will process up to 60,000 tonnes per year of agricultural waste and resource materials to produce pipeline-quality RNG, carbon dioxide captured from soil-enhancing biochar and value-added digestate.
It is anticipated that the new plant will produce up to 250,000 GJ of renewable gas into the local network under a long-term contract.
It is further envisaged that the Clayhurst anaerobic digestion (“AD”) facility is one of a number to be developed by Matter across British Columbia and Alberta, Canada and the United States.
Global and Matter have collectively put forth a strategy to reach the wide-ranging opportunity for low-carbon RNG while providing a solution platform for regenerative farming and carbon sequestration.
Both the Canadian and US have set ambitious targets to support extensive large-scale AD to RNG projects.
