Fourth Ukrainian firm starts biomethane exports to the EU

According to industry analysts at ExPro Daily Gas, YM Liquid Gas produces and liquefies biomethane at its own facilities before transporting it by road tankers to Germany.
The buyer is Preture Liquid Gas, a Cyprus-registered firm that also owns YM Biogas Company, placing both under the same corporate group.
YM Liquid Gas follows Vitagro, MHP and HOPAK, which began overseas biomethane shipments earlier in 2025.
Since February, Ukrainian companies have collectively exported around 6.5 million cubic metres of gaseous biomethane, with MHP accounting for most of that volume.
The company is also Ukraine’s second exporter of liquefied biomethane, following Oril Leader, part of the MHP Group, which has shipped approximately 2,800 tonnes of bio-LNG to Germany since May 2025.
Ukraine’s biomethane sector continues to expand rapidly. As of mid-2025, four operational plants with a combined annual capacity of about 41 million cubic metres were connected to the national gas network, according to the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine.
Industry forecasts suggest that by the end of the year, additional facilities could boost total production capacity to 111 million cubic metres per year.
YM Liquid Gas produces bio-LNG at the Yuzefo-Mykolayivskyi Biogas Plant in Vinnytsia region, using sugar beet pulp and poultry manure as feedstock.
Between September and October 2025, the company exported an estimated 60 tonnes of liquefied biomethane to the EU market.
