Enpower Corp., a California-based independent power producer, has sold its wholly owned subsidiary Wadham Energy Limited Partnership to High Rock Energy Group.
The sale transfers a 27 MW rice husk biomass facility in Colusa County, California, which has operated for over 30 years providing baseload renewable power to the state's electricity grid.
The buyer, High Rock Energy Group (comprising High Rock Energy LLC and HR Energy GP), is part of an infrastructure fund specialising in power and water projects across the western United States.
All Wadham Energy employees will transition to High Rock Energy Group, with no anticipated operational changes.
"The transition will be seamless, and our customer relations, supply chain, and plan to provide baseload power to California will remain unchanged," said Abhilash Sharma, co-founder and COO of High Rock Energy Group.
The facility serves dual purposes: generating renewable electricity for California's energy market while providing rice husk disposal services for the local rice milling industry.
Ed Tomeo, President and CEO of Enpower Corp., stated the sale positions Wadham stakeholders and customers for "continued success well into the future."
