Eiffel Investment Group has announced the financing of Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises’ new biomethane production facility in Ireland.
The plant, currently under construction in County Kildare, is expected to begin commissioning in mid-2026.
Once operational, it will produce approximately 120 GWh of renewable biomethane annually, injecting the gas directly into the national gas grid operated by Gas Networks Ireland.
The project supports the Irish government’s ambitions to enhance energy sovereignty and develop a thriving biomethane sector capable of decarbonising heat, transport, and agriculture.
It will also contribute directly to the local economy by creating jobs and promoting regional growth and agricultural resilience.
Alexis Sarton, Investment Director at Eiffel Investment Group, said: “This project combines technical excellence, environmental and economic value, and strong engagement with local stakeholders – an infrastructure model we promote across Europe. We are proud to work with the Evergreen team while valuing Eiffel’s expertise in the low-carbon molecule sectors.”
Expert-led investment in proven technology
Eiffel Investment Group has established itself as a key investor in renewable gas and circular economy infrastructure across Europe, with more than €350 million invested and over 100 anaerobic digestion plants financed since 2020.
Eiffel has arranged and provided a tailored financing package to support the construction of Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises’ biomethane facility.
By backing one of the first large-scale biomethane units to connect to Ireland’s national gas grid, Eiffel demonstrates its ability to structure flexible funding solutions for high-impact energy transition projects and confirms its role as a strategic financial partner for innovative developers driving Europe’s decarbonisation.
Katarzyna Kubizna, Director at Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises, said: “This is an important step in delivering the largest biomethane project in Ireland at the time of completion. We are delighted to be at the forefront of this developing industry and are excited to continue working with the Eiffel team through to completion.”
Pierre-Antoine Machelon, Head of Infrastructure at Eiffel Investment Group, added: “We are delighted to finance the construction of a flagship biomethane plant in Ireland, a project that perfectly aligns with Eiffel Investment Group’s commitment to accelerate the energy transition across Europe.”
