Dourogás refuels first heavy-duty vehicle with biomethane

Portuguese firm Dourogás GNV, working with HAVI Logistics, has refuelled its first heavy-duty vehicles with biomethane at Santo António dos Cavaleiros filling station.

The biomethane incorporated at Dourogás filling station in Loures comes from a pioneering demonstration of a concept project that allows the production of 100% RNG from the anaerobic digestion of organic waste.

Dourogás has recently established a partnership with Águas do Tejo Atlântico to start a demonstration-of-concept project aimed at producing biomethane from sludge generated at wastewater treatment plants.

By introducing biomethane into the NGV supply system, Dourogás reaffirms its priority and commitment to renewable gases, such as hydrogen and biomethane, where the company’s developments are concentrated, to overcome the challenges of the energy transition that Portugal and the world need.
