Dalkia to develop 8-MW biomass plant in Poland

EDF’s renewables subsidiary, Dalkia, through its Polish division, has secured a contract to construct an 8-MW biomass boiler plant for Edison Next Poland.
The project, located near Rzeszow in southeastern Poland, will see Dalkia Polska Solutions manage the full scope of work, including design, construction, equipment supply, installation and commissioning of the new facility.
Once operational, the plant will strengthen Edison Next Poland’s combined heat and power (CHP) capabilities and contribute to the company’s ongoing decarbonisation efforts, following the recent launch of two advanced gas cogeneration units.
Dalkia has been active in Poland since 2014, focusing on the operation, optimisation and expansion of municipal heating networks in the Silesian region.
In 2017, the company broadened its services by acquiring Matex Controls, now rebranded as Dalkia Polska Solutions, which specialises in energy efficiency for both industrial facilities and buildings.
