Camco to complete biogas project by Q1 2012

Currently under development in Idaho, US, renewable energy company Camco International says its dairy biogas project will be operational in Q1 2012.

Upon completion, the plant will be one of the largest of its kind in North America. It will convert cow manure from over 1,000 cows into 4.5MW of renewable energy. The preliminary building work is due to finish by Q3 2011, before the generators, which have now been ordered, begin producing power at the beginning of next year.

'We continue to develop a pipeline of additional projects accounting for more than 50,000 head of cattle in total and we are accelerating work on additional platforms to develop projects from other sources of organic waste,' says president of Camco, Yariv Cohen.
