BPC Instruments partners with SixRing to support biomethane optimisation in EU and UK markets

BPC Instruments AB has entered into a collaboration with Canadian technology company SixRing to support the rollout of Stimulose, a new feedstock additive designed to improve process stability and efficiency in biomethane production.
Under the agreement, BPC Instruments will act as SixRing’s independent Quality Assurance and Optimisation Partner as Stimulose is introduced to biomethane producers across the EU and UK.
The collaboration responds to growing challenges faced by the biomethane sector, particularly around feedstock availability, quality and variability.
As biomethane producers increasingly rely on diverse biomass streams, inconsistencies in feedstock can lead to unstable biological processes and reduced gas yields.
Industry operators are therefore seeking verifiable, data-driven solutions to optimise performance and mitigate operational risk.
Independent evaluation and transparent performance verification are becoming critical when integrating new technologies into existing plants.
Through the partnership, BPC Instruments will provide third-party performance evaluation, transparent audits, and independent reporting to both SixRing and its customers.
These assessments will enable plant operators to understand how Stimulose performs under their specific operating conditions, supporting objective decision-making and long-term optimisation strategies.
Dr Jing Liu, CEO of BPC Instruments, said: “Many plant operators are looking for solutions that strengthen process stability and increase biomethane output. Our role is to provide a clear, evidence-based picture of what a new solution actually delivers in practice. This includes evaluating additives such as Stimulose, while also assessing the plant’s current biological performance and identifying further improvement potential.”
SixRing, which is currently commercialising Stimulose, plans to include BPC’s assessment package as part of customer agreements in the EU and UK with durations of 12 months or longer.
The package includes an initial performance benchmark followed by structured follow-up reviews during the first year of operation.
Scott Treadwell, President of SixRing, said the partnership would help accelerate customer confidence and adoption: “BPC’s methodology and analytical rigour provide the credibility biomethane producers need. Their benchmarking approach allows customers to quickly understand performance and realise measurable operational benefits.”
