Biogas build begins in Hungary

Construction has begun on what will soon be Hungary’s largest biogas plant.

The Hungarian division of Germany-based Aufwind Neue Energien laid the facility’s cornerstone on 16th July this year in Szarvas, southeast Hungary.

Costing HUF 3.9 billion (€13.5 million) to build the plant will produce 4.2MW of energy each year. The project, expected to be completed early next year, received financial support from the European Union and the government, totalling HUF 500 million.
