Anaergia subsidiary commissions new UK biogas plant

UTS Biogas, a subsidiary of sustainable energy solutions company Anaergia, has commissioned a new biogas facility in Dagenham, London, UK, for TEG Environmental.

The 1.5MW facility, utilising a combination of anaerobic digestion and in-vessel composting technology, is located in the London Sustainable Industries Park.

Thanks to this combination of technologies, the facility will be able to process a variety of feedstocks from organic waste streams, namely food waste.

It has a processing capacity of about 50,000 tonnes of organic waste per year, according to reports, and will generate enough power for 2,000 homes.
