Alchemyca launches real-time anaerobic digester prediction and optimisation platform

Alchemyca, a waste-to-value technology company focused on transforming anaerobic digesters into high-performance biorefineries, has launched its flagship digital platform, Claritix™, described as the industry’s first solution to predict biogas output from organic waste feedstocks in real time and provide operators with precise control over digester performance.
The company says Claritix addresses a critical gap in the anaerobic digestion sector, where many facilities still operate with limited visibility, few real-time sensors and minimal predictive capability. This often leads to conservative operating practices and significant underutilisation of potential biogas production.
With global renewable natural gas (RNG) capacity expected to double by 2034 and electricity demand rising sharply, including from the rapidly expanding data centre market, Alchemyca believes biogas has a vital role to play.
The technology offers a dual benefit of cutting methane emissions while generating renewable baseload power for growing energy systems.
Alchemyca’s Claritix platform integrates real-time sensors that analyse feedstock composition and energy content with AI and machine learning models trained on both historical and current operational data.
This enables the system to forecast gas production, detect instability before it occurs and guide operators towards stable, optimal performance.
Once stability is achieved, the platform can be combined with tailored biocatalyst programmes designed to deliver further performance gains, with Alchemyca claiming potential double-digit increases in biogas generation.
“Biogas is one of the most powerful tools we have for clean, sustainable energy,” said Patrick Vagner, CEO of Alchemyca. “We built Alchemyca to give anaerobic digester operators the intelligence and control they need to maximise performance starting today.”
The company was founded in August 2024 and has since been working with digester operators to improve performance through its expertise in biotechnology and industrial bioprocessing.
Alchemyca has assembled a multidisciplinary team combining anaerobic digestion science, plant operations, analytics and AI, data infrastructure and user-centred product design.
According to the company, this combination has enabled the development of a scalable platform that can be deployed in complex, real-world facilities and deliver immediate, repeatable value.
“Alchemyca is ushering in a new era of anaerobic digester performance,” said Brian Brazeau, Partner at Ferment. “By integrating real-time analytics, AI and machine learning, and targeted biocatalyst deployment, they are helping the biogas industry shift from reactive waste management to precise, intelligent and highly optimised biorefineries.”
