Airco Process wins turnkey contract for Finland’s largest biogas facility

As a key subcontractor to bioconstruct, Airco Process will deliver a fully integrated turnkey solution that includes an amine-based biogas upgrading unit, two BioLNG units, and a CO₂ purification and liquefaction unit. Together, these systems will enable the efficient processing, upgrading and utilisation of biogas and its by-products.
The state-of-the-art facility is being developed by Nivalan Biokaasu Oy in partnership with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and is regarded as a flagship project for the Finnish bioenergy sector. Once operational, the plant will have an annual processing capacity of approximately 600,000 tonnes of input materials.
The facility is expected to produce around 36 tonnes of bioLNG per day and approximately 77 tonnes of biogenic CO₂ per day. Both products will be purified and liquefied on site, making them suitable for use in industry, transport and a wide range of downstream applications.
Airco Process said it is proud to have been entrusted with such a central role in the project, noting that the contract reflects confidence in its technology, engineering expertise and integrated process solutions.
The company added that the project represents a strong step forward for renewable energy in the region and an important contribution to the transition towards sustainable and climate-neutral energy supply.
