A-Power awarded EPC contract
In China, a provider of distributed power generation systems, A-Power Energy Generation Systems has been awarded a RMB218 million (€24.4 million) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a biomass power plant in the region.
Hainan Century Light Investment is behind the project, which will be located in Baisha County, Hainan. The plant will be fired by straw and, depending on the availability of the feedstock, Hainan Century Light Investment is planning to erect two 12MW straw boilers.
Operations are expected to commence at the beginning of 2012.
A-Power’s chairman and CEO Jianxiang Lu commented: ‘We are pleased to announce this new contract, which will generate additional revenues and profits over a relatively short period of time.’
