Supporting each other in a post-COVID world

As practice manager of the Climate Change Fund Management Unit, Marc Sadler oversees the World Bank’s climate and carbon finance portfolio. These funds invest in and provide results-based finance for programmes covering sustainable forestry and land use, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and national policy.

The unit also includes climate finance programmes administered through the World Bank. Sadler oversees the relationship with the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Climate Investment Funds (CIF).

“All of these climate finance sources deliver innovative and scalable climate action and help our client countries to develop low-carbon, resilient economies,” said Sadler.

Before joining the World Bank, Sadler spent 15 years living and working in Central Asia in commodities trading and development consulting. Now, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, he is more focused than ever on delivering sustainable solutions for people and the planet.
