Thomas Siegmund has more than 20 years of experience in the bioenergy sector. He was deputy secretary general of the German bioenergy umbrella organization BBE and managing director of the German Wood Energy Association FVH. As an expert on sustainable biomass supply chains, Thomas was also an adviser in several committees of the industry and the government, and has pushed forward the issue of responsible and sustainable biomass use within the bioenergy sector. As Vice President of Bioenergy Europe, Thomas followed closely the discussions on the RED II and is now in charge of translating the requirements into a viable solution for the industry such as the SURE certification.

Marta Kamola-Martines is Head of Biogas at the Strategy Department of ENGIE. She was previously Head of Gas and Green Gas at corporate functions leading on topics related to strategy and industrialization of biomethane and BD support oversight. She joined ENGIE in 2010 in its storage subsidiary Storengy.

Marta has a 20-year experience in the gas business, with strong strategic and regulatory focus, in particular in infrastructures and green gases. She started her career at POGC before moving to Brussels-based Gas Infrastructure Europe.

Marta is member of the Company Advisory Board of European Biogas Association. She is also part of the Council of the World Biogas Association.

A practising lawyer for 10 years, Charlotte Morton studied for her MBA at London Business School before setting up a car club business. Asked to establish the business side of the UK Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association in 2009, she saw the potential of an industry that can deliver huge potential and value to the UK. Given the even bigger global potential, which must be achieved if the Paris Climate Change targets and UN Sustainable Development Goals are to be met, Charlotte played a pivotal role in establishing the World Biogas Association in 2016 to promote and increase the rate of uptake of biogas globally. Charlotte is also on the board of Green Gas Trading Ltd, which runs the Biomethane Certification Scheme.

Zoltan Elek graduated from the Technical University of Munich after completing a degree in Electrical Engineering, where he majored in Energy Technology. He is also a graduate of the Center for Digital Technology and Management at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universiẗät Munich, participated in an MBA program in cooperation with the University of California (Berkeley), and completed an executive program at Harvard Business School.

After working for notable names such as E.ON Engineering, Stadtwerke München public utility company, and McKinsey & Company, Mr. Elek founded Landwärme in 2007 and is now the managing director of the Germany-based company. Landwärme is a biomethane supplier active in the European market. With a trading portfolio of more than 2.5 TWh, the company is the leading biomethane trader in Europe today. Besides trading, Landwärme also plans and operates biogas upgrading plants and offers services along the entire biomethane value chain.

Not only is Mr. Elek’s company a pioneer in the German market, it is also building bridges between Eastern and Western Europe and doing away with obstacles that currently stand in the way of an integrated European market for renewable gas. Landwärme played a vital role in the successful implementation of the first Eastern European biomethane plant in Hungary, for example.

In all, Mr. Elek offers a wealth of experience in, and well-founded knowledge of, the biomethane industry and markets in Europe. He actively participates in the discourse surrounding renewable energies and biomethane in particular and has given numerous presentations at both German and European events.

Pharoah Le Feuvre works in the Strategy Department at Spain´s gas TSO, Enagás, with a focus on the market status and long term outlook for renewable gases. Between 2015-20 he was based within the Renewable Energy Division of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, primarily working in the area of low carbon fuels. He also has a background working in the renewable energy field in the UK, conducting commercial analysis for an energy utility company, in consultancy and managing renewable power and heat subsidy programmes.

After graduated his business economic studies at Johannes Kepler University in Linz Christian Hoellinger started his career in Shell in 1993. After several local sales & marketing roles in retail, managing the CSC and then becoming sales manager for CRT Austria/Switzerland, he moved to international marketing and sales management roles in the Global Shell Cards business. In 2014, Christian got the responsibility for the European international key accounts business for Shell Fleet Solution. In this role he was managing the sales team for the indirect international Leasing & Reseller segment as well as big direct international fleets & CRT customers amounting to a total volume of more than 1,5 Bln ltrs and achieved sufficient volume growth in a mature business segment year on year. Christian is well connected as he gathered good relationships to external top card accounts in the fleet & transport industry.

Mid 2018 Christian was appointed to lead the European Road Downstream LNG team and is responsible on accelerating the uptake of LNG in Road Transport across Europe. Together with his team he defines the strategic plans for that segment, drives the development of the required LNG Retail network across Europe and focuses to ensure new customer & shipper opportunities are secured. In this position so far he built a good relationship to all necessary relevant internal stakeholders across different Shell business units (SLMT , Retail, Shell Fleet Solution, Country Chairs, GR, ER) and actively engaged with different external stakeholders such as Truck OEMs, industry platforms, shipping & logistic companies, etc. to jointly exploit the potential for LNG for Transport. Representing Shell as member in NGVA Christian was appointed as Vice President of this European association from October 2020.

During those years, he not only focused expansion of biogas and in particular biomethane but also on the implementation of techniques such as bio-LNG, bio-Methanol, bio-Hydrogen and bioplastics.
