Previously, he developed gas projects in Brazil, especially infrastructure and biogas/biomethane plants. GRDF delivers gas to 11 million clients thanks to a network long of 200,000 km. Today, more than 220 biomethane plants are injecting in GRDF distribution grid.

Mr. Torsten Fischer is founder and Managing Director of Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH. He has been active in biogas plant engineering and construction since 1993 and has broad experience with different technologies used in AD systems. Under his lead, Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure has done engineering for projects all over the world with main focus on Europe, North America and Japan, gathering more than 160 references.

Since 2009, Mr. Fischer has been recognised a publicly appointed expert witness in the field of biogas. As an expert and appraiser, he prepares technical assessments for courts, authorities, insurance companies, lawyers and consumers in the field of biogas.

Thomas Siegmund has more than 20 years of experience in the bioenergy sector. He was deputy secretary general of the German bioenergy umbrella organization BBE and managing director of the German Wood Energy Association FVH. As an expert on sustainable biomass supply chains, Thomas was also an adviser in several committees of the industry and the government, and has pushed forward the issue of responsible and sustainable biomass use within the bioenergy sector. As Vice President of Bioenergy Europe, Thomas followed closely the discussions on the RED II and is now in charge of translating the requirements into a viable solution for the industry such as the SURE certification.

Marta Kamola-Martines is Head of Biogas at the Strategy Department of ENGIE. She was previously Head of Gas and Green Gas at corporate functions leading on topics related to strategy and industrialization of biomethane and BD support oversight. She joined ENGIE in 2010 in its storage subsidiary Storengy.

Marta has a 20-year experience in the gas business, with strong strategic and regulatory focus, in particular in infrastructures and green gases. She started her career at POGC before moving to Brussels-based Gas Infrastructure Europe.

Marta is member of the Company Advisory Board of European Biogas Association. She is also part of the Council of the World Biogas Association.

A practising lawyer for 10 years, Charlotte Morton studied for her MBA at London Business School before setting up a car club business. Asked to establish the business side of the UK Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association in 2009, she saw the potential of an industry that can deliver huge potential and value to the UK. Given the even bigger global potential, which must be achieved if the Paris Climate Change targets and UN Sustainable Development Goals are to be met, Charlotte played a pivotal role in establishing the World Biogas Association in 2016 to promote and increase the rate of uptake of biogas globally. Charlotte is also on the board of Green Gas Trading Ltd, which runs the Biomethane Certification Scheme.

Harm Grobrügge operates his family’s farm in Northern Germany with an on-farm biogas plant installed in 1983. He has been active in the Fachverband Biogas since 1985 at various positions: Regional spokesman, Board member, representative with BEE (German Renewable Energy Federation), associate to the Clearingstelle-EEG. Harm Grobrügge is a President of EBA since 2019 and was its Vice-President since its founding in 2009 until 2019.

Zoltan Elek graduated from the Technical University of Munich after completing a degree in Electrical Engineering, where he majored in Energy Technology. He is also a graduate of the Center for Digital Technology and Management at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universiẗät Munich, participated in an MBA program in cooperation with the University of California (Berkeley), and completed an executive program at Harvard Business School.

After working for notable names such as E.ON Engineering, Stadtwerke München public utility company, and McKinsey & Company, Mr. Elek founded Landwärme in 2007 and is now the managing director of the Germany-based company. Landwärme is a biomethane supplier active in the European market. With a trading portfolio of more than 2.5 TWh, the company is the leading biomethane trader in Europe today. Besides trading, Landwärme also plans and operates biogas upgrading plants and offers services along the entire biomethane value chain.

Not only is Mr. Elek’s company a pioneer in the German market, it is also building bridges between Eastern and Western Europe and doing away with obstacles that currently stand in the way of an integrated European market for renewable gas. Landwärme played a vital role in the successful implementation of the first Eastern European biomethane plant in Hungary, for example.

In all, Mr. Elek offers a wealth of experience in, and well-founded knowledge of, the biomethane industry and markets in Europe. He actively participates in the discourse surrounding renewable energies and biomethane in particular and has given numerous presentations at both German and European events.

Morten Helveg Petersen has served as a member of the European Parliament since 2014 as a Vice-Chair of ITRE, acting as Shadow Rapporteur on several key reports such as the European Energy Security Strategy, the implementation report on the Energy Efficiency Directive and more recently as Rapporteur on the regulation of Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). In the 2019-2024 mandate he continues his dedicated work on securing the green transition, where he is currently Rapporteur of the European Parliament's Offshore Renewable Energy Strategy.

Before that, he served as a member of the Danish parliament from 1998 to 2009, after which he became the vice president of the association of Danish Media. In September 2013, the Danish Social Liberal Party nominated him their top candidate for the 2014 European Parliament election. He is also Chair of Energy Solutions, a cross-party European Parliamentary network which brings a holistic approach to EU Energy Legislation.

Marc Sadler is the Manager of the Climate Funds Management unit at the World Bank (WB). The unit manages the climate and carbon trust funds housed at the WB, covering land-use, forestry, renewable energy, energy efficiency, as well as the relationship with the Global Environmental Facility and the Green Climate Fund. His previous roles with the WB were Adviser on Risk and Markets and Global Lead for Climate Smart Agriculture in the Agriculture Global Practice. Before the WB, Marc was a consultant for the World Bank and FAO in Central Asia, Caucasus and Turkey on issues related to agribusiness and sectoral policy. Prior to this, he was a commodities trader based out of the Former Soviet Union. He has an M.A. in Jurisprudence from Trinity College, Oxford University.

Mikkel Kynde Joined Nature energy in 2014 managing the Natural Gas portfolio. Since 2016 Mikkel has worked with business development and sales of biomethane. Key focus is developing the link between consumption and production trough out Europe across borders in the compliance market as well as the voluntary market.

Mikkel has a strong experience in the gas market and in the regulatory framework in various European markets, but also in the financial sector, where the first 10 year of the career was spent. Mikkel is associated member in ERGaR since 2018, working on simplifying and proving the gas network as mean of transportation of biogas across borders.
