RusForest to build wood pellet plant in Magistralny

RusForest, a Swedish forestry company with operations in Russia, has engaged mechanical engineering firm Hekotek to build a wood pellet production facility at the company's Magistralny sawmill in Eastern Siberia.

Under the contract, Hekotek will deliver equipment for the construction of the plant, which will have an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes. The facility will be located at company's Magistralny sawmill in Eastern Siberia.

The new pellet plant will ensure utilisation of all sawmill residuals and improve the long-term profitability of RusForest's Magistralny unit. The premium pellets will be exported to Europe and South Korea.

The total investment is estimated to be approximately €4.4 million. Completion and launch of the new pellet plant is expected by the end of 2015.
