Eastern Siberian pellet plant begins production

A wood pellet plant, built and started-up by mechanical engineering company Hekotek in November 2014, has reached the designed output capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year.

The plant, owned by Lesresurs and being operated by Rusforest Management Group, is located in the Irkutsk region of Eastern Siberia.

The wood pellets are produced from sawdust and pulp chips generated at Lesresurs' own sawmill.

The new plant's technical solutions are already tested and proven in Hekotek's existing facilities. It features a 4.5 tonne per hour pellet press and a hammer mill installed by Dutch company CPM. Hekotek was responsible for the manufacture of various conveyors and production units, including a drum dryer with a furnace for drying sawdust.
